Sergeant Dave Roberts of the Royal Falkland Islands Police updates us on the latest police activity.


 


At 1625hrs on Tuesday, 01 August 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a find  of 2 live 81mm fuses.  The EOD dealt with the incident.


 


At 2315hrs on Thursday, 03 August 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a possible missing person who had not been seen for a few days.  The person was seen and all is well.


 


At 0845hrs on Friday, 04 August 2006 The Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report that a BL-755 was found at Port Howard.  EOD will deal with it this week.


 


At 1552hrs on Friday, 04 August 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a request for assistance at Eliza Cove Road.  Officers attended and tasked an ambulance.  KEMH Staff are dealing with the incident.


 


At 007hrs on Saturday, 05 August 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a vehicle driving erratically on John Street.  One person is helping Police with their enquiries.


 


At 1050hrs on Saturday, 05 August 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a vehicle blocking someone’s driveway.  The vehicle was removed later by a Police Officer.  The Royal Falkland Islands Police would like to remind road users that vehicles must be parked in a sensible position and to allow access to driveways and garages.


 


At 1201hrs on Sunday, 06 August 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report that a vehicle was driving the wrong way down the one-way system on Racecourse Road.  Police attended and discovered that signage had been removed.  The Royal Falkland Islands Police would like to remind road users that even though signs (Stop Signs, Give Way Signs, or One-Way Signs etc.) are removed due to vandalism and/or theft the restrictions they represent are still in place and apply.


 


At 2047hrs on Sunday, 06 August 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of youths playing on then pontoons outside the Jetty Centre.  Police Officers Attended and moved the youths away from the area.


 


At 0814hours on Monday, 07 August 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a request for medical assistance at FIPASS.  An ambulance was tasked and KEMH Staff dealt with the incident.


 


At 0907hrs on Monday, 07 August 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report that there was a sudden death on the high seas around the Falklands.  The fishing vessel is on its way to Stanley but as soon as it reaches the 200-mile economic zone the Royal Falkland Islands Police will begin their investigation.


 


The Royal Falkland Islands Police would like to remind all vehicle owners that their vehicles must have index numbers affixed to the front and the back of the vehicle and not simply affixed to the windscreen.  Also, the tax or vehicle licensing disks must be affixed to either the top centre of the front windscreen or the bottom left-hand side of the windscreen.


 


The Royal Falkland Islands Police would also like to remind drivers and passengers in vehicles that they must belt-up when they are using designated roads.   Children must be


either belted or put in appropriate harnesses and/or seats.  It only takes a second to put your seat belt on but that second could save your life.
