Sergeant Dave Roberts of the Royal Falkland Islands Police updates us on the latest Police Activity:
At 0815hrs on Monday, 08 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received notice that a drone and six or seven smoke canisters had been discovered at Island Harbour. The EOD reported that 11 smoke canisters in total were disposed of.
At 0915hrs on Tuesday, 09 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of drivers on Ross Road Heading east and turning right up Philomel Hill clipping the corner. PWD will paint white lines in the area to ensure traffic flow doesn’t endanger pedestrians on the footpath.
At 1939hrs on Tuesday, 09 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of damage to a fence at Pump Green. If anyone has information please contact Sergeant Roberts on 27222.
At 2319hrs on Tuesday, 09 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a person laying in the junction of John and Philomel Streets. The person was found and is now helping Police with enquiries.
At 2129hrs on Wednesday, 10 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a Pillion passenger riding on a motorbike without a helmet. The rider was located and given a warning. The Royal Falkland Islands Police would like to remind road users that they must have a full motorcycle licence before they can carry Pillion passengers as required by the Road Traffic Ordinance 1979.
At 0250hrs on Friday, 12 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of an in-bound medivac flight.
At 1135hrs on Friday, 12 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of the theft of playground equipment from the play park on St. Mary’s Walk. If anyone has information they can call Sergeant Roberts on 27222 or Glen Williams at PWD. Otherwise, you can return the missing item to the police or to PWD.
WINDY FRIDAY REPORTS
At 1639hrs on Friday, 12 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a request for assistance in securing roof tin on a porch at an address on Snake Street.
At 1653hrs on Friday, 12 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of loose roof tin at Government House.
At 1717hrs on Friday, 12 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of the doors being blown off the Beaver Hanger on Ross Road West.
At 1722hrs on Friday, 12 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of metal sheeting from a transformer shed being blown about on Goss Road
At 1912hrs on Friday, 12 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a power line down on Davis Street between Dean and Philomel Streets.
Thanks to the Power and Electrical Section and the Fire Service as well as the Royal Falkland Islands Police, Windy Friday damage was made secure and was no longer a danger to the public.
At 0004hrs on Saturday, 13 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a speeding vehicle and a number of traffic cones in the road (unspecified) and the driver was located and given a warning. The cones were removed.
At 1110hrs on Monday, 15 May 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report that EOD were to destroy a broken flair at Yorke Bay.
The Royal Falkland Islands Police would like to remind mobile phone users to lock their key pads when their phones are not in use. Over the weekend they received at least 10 accidental 999 calls.
