Sergeant Dave Roberts of the Royal Falkland Islands Police updates us on the latest police activity:


 


At 1818hrs on Monday, 24 April 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a chimney fire on Ross Road West.  The owners of the property dealt with the fire.


 


At 0824hrs on Friday, 28 April 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of the find of a possible “Drop-Tank” north of Mt. Caroline on West Falkland.  EOD were tasked to inspect the site.  A further report of unknown type rounds was received.  The rounds were found by Children, who, thanks to instructions from the EOD in school, knew how to report and locate the find.  The EOD were tasked to dispose of the rounds.


 


At 1415hrs on Friday, 28 April 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of damaged fence panels at Pump Green.  Any information on this damage can be passed on to Sgt. Roberts on 27222.


 


At 1400hrs on Friday, 28 April 2006 a report of a medivac via SeaKing from 78 Squadron was received by the Royal Falkland Islands Police.  The helicopter arrived at 1500hrs.


 


At 1855hrs on Friday, 28 April 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a chimney Fire on Holdfast Road. The Fire Service dealt with it.


 


At 0733hrs on Sunday, 30 April 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a huge piece of wood floating off the public jetty.  This was dealt with by the appropriate authorities.


 


At 1213hrs on Sunday, 30 April 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of damage to a property on Lookout Estate.  It was found to be wind damage and the owners are dealing with it.


 


Sergeant Roberts would like to remind mobile phone users, especially those who do not have ones that fold up, to lock their key pads when the device is not in use.  Over the weekend, five mobile phone users accidentally dialled 999, do to key pads not being locked.
