Falklands : Court News: 19 April 2006

There were three cases before Senior Magistrate, Mrs. Claire Faulds, on Wednesday.

In the Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Mrs. Claire Faulds Elaine Maria Lennie applied to have her Community Service Order varied or revoked.  The order was place upon her after being convicted of criminal damage to her flat on 06 March 2006.  The Social Worker who reviewed the case recommended discharge due to changing circumstances.  The Senior Magistrate granted the discharge and advised Miss Lennie to continue her involvement with Social Services so that Miss Lennie and her baby would benefit.


 


Raul Luis Millares Hernandez pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath contra to (section 24(4) of the Road Traffic Ordinance 1948.  The offence for which he was charged occurred on Sunday, 16 April 2006, when he failed to give a specimen of breath at the Police Station.  He was fined £350.00and ordered to pay £70.00 prosecution costs and given two months to pay.  He was further disqualified from driving for 12 months.


 


Christopher Buck pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath contra to (section 24(4) of the Road Traffic Ordinance 1948.  The offence for which he was charged took place on Sunday, 09 April 2006.  He was fined £400.00 and ordered to pay £70.00 prosecution costs.  He was further disqualified from driving for 12 months.
