Falklands : Fishing Company Fined £15,000

At 1400 on Thursday, 22 December 2005 the Captain and Owners of the Koras 8 appeared in court to answer charges of not obeying a fishery officer's instructions.

In Court at 1400hrs on Thursday, 22 December 2005 the Captain and owners of the Koras 8 pled guilty to not obeying instructions given by a fisheries Officer and not submitting a “Fishend” Report.  The Captain was fined £2,000.00 for not complying with instructions issued by a fisheries Officer and £500.00 for not submitting a “Fishend” Report.  The company that owns Koras 8 were fined £15,000.00 for both offences and had to pay £3,298.50 court and prosecution costs.
