Falklands : Now it's Nukes
Submitted by Falkland Islands News Network (Juanita Brock) 23.11.2005 (Article Archived on 07.12.2005)

Some old war stories need to be put to rest.

NOW IT’S THE NUKES

An Editorial by J. Brock (FINN)

Pick a card – any card.  Card one is the trial of Margaret Thatcher for Winning the Falklands War.  Card Two is the Accusation that Margaret Thatcher was going to Nuke Argentina.  Card Three – well, where’s the imagination?

Every once in a while either one or the other card is played out in the press.  In order to get a book sold or a story widely read it has to be controversial.  Well, I am going to say something controversial about the Nuke Card – Who cares?  It will come around again when someone else writes a book about the 1982 War.

Can’t anyone write about the necessity to fund the Argentine Toothfish tagging programme in these press entities?

Why Nukes has to be priority news is beyond me and I think it’s time to give it a rest.
