Falklands : Seven-Man Police Team Arrives on Saturday

Two senior police officers who have been suspended will have their cases investigated by Professional Standards Department investigators.

SEVEN-MAN POLICE TEAM ARRIVES ON SATURDAY

Government House have announced that a seven-man team of Police Officers from the Professional Standards Department of the Metropolitan Police Service will arrive in the Falkland Islands on Saturday, 12 November 2005 to investigate allegations against members of the Royal Falkland Islands Police.


 


Detective Chief Superintendent Carl Bussey will lead the delegation.  And, the team will be sworn in as Royal Falkland Islands Police Officers during the investigation and the length of their stay.


 


It is expected that the team will complete their investigations within a week but some of the team members will stay on if the investigation lasts longer.  A report will be submitted to H. E. the Governor Mr. Pearce by the team in due course.
