Falklands : Sama'82 Needs You
Submitted by Falkland Islands News Network (Juanita Brock) 18.10.2005 (Article Archived on 01.11.2005)

Veterans of the 82 Conflict are able to lay ghosts to bed when they come back and see the progress that they made possible.

SAMA’82 NEEDS YOU!

By J. Brock (FINN)

Sama’82 are raising funds to help pay for the transport of Falklands War Veterans from the UK to the Falklands.  Veterans and their Families and their next of Kin are entitled to a return flight to the Falklands so that ghosts can be laid to rest and families can see where the conflict took place.

Money for internal travel and accommodation is also needed for the veterans, many of whom have not been back to the Falklands since the ’82 Conflict.

Not only money is needed.  The personal, friendly approach goes a long way towards a successful visit for a Veteran, so the Local Branch of Sama’82 has organised a meeting at the Chamber of Commerce for Wednesday, 19 October 2005 beginning at 1730 hrs.

According to Branch Chairman, Gary Clement, “We are interested in those who can walk the talk.”

In order to collect an updated list of people who want to offer accommodation and/or transport, etc. please contact Gary Clement or Jock Elliot.   Due to an unfortunate computer crash, would all interested people please submit their names?  A hard copy of the lists will be made in due course.
