The Education Board will meet at 0830 on Friday, 07 October 2005 in the Liberation Room of the Secretariat.  On the agenda are a request for urgent items, confirmation of the minutes of the meeting held on 31 May 2005 and matters arising from them, GCSE results and Yellis predictions, key performance indicators for Education Department 2005-6, inspection report, action plans for the Infant Junior School, FICS and Camp Education and Stanley Hostel, as well as the Director of Education’s Report, evening class and exercise class fees.


 


A meeting of the Transport Advisory Committee will take place on Thursday, 13 October 2005 at 1330 in the Liberation Room of the Secretariat.  Members of the public can attend but cannot speak at this meeting.  Copies of papers associated with this meeting are available three working days prior to the meeting.


 


In yesterday’s Housing Committee Report, FINN mentioned it didn’t have a draft copy of the new form and guidance notes.  They simply weren’t picked up at the proper time and are now in FINN’s possession.


 


PLANNING AND BUILDING COMMITTEE REPORT

A meeting of the Planning and Building Committee was held in the Liberation Room of the Secretariat at 0900 on Thursday, 06 October 2005.  Cllrs. Cockwell (RC) and Edwards, N (NE) were present as well as Mr. Gerald Cheek (GC), Mr. Mike Harris (MH), Mr. Graham Middleton (GM), Mr. Gardner Fiddes (GF), Mrs Dominique Guidicelli (DG), Manfred Keenleyside (MK) and the Building Advisor.  After apologies were received and declarations of interest noted, confirmation of the minutes held on the 8th of September 2005 was signed.


 


First on the agenda were eleven items that were deferred from the last meeting:


 


71/05/P: Outline application for the erection of a dwelling for Mrs. D. Turner on land south of Murray Heights Mobile Home Park (Deferred again).


 


86/05/P:  Erection of a 20 Metre GSM tower and hut for equipment for Cable & Wireless at Malvina Gardens to the South of the Taxation Office (Deferred again).


 


67/05P:  Extension of Dog Kennels for Mr. A. Jaffray at Murray Heights (Deferred again).


 


191/97/R05:  Renewal of temporary Planning Permission for siting of container and storage unit for Mr. D. Eynon at The Boat House, Ross Road, Stanley (Granted for six months providing the container is moved).


 


115/98.R05:  Planning Permission for oyster trestles for Mr. S. Hardcastle at Darwin, East Falkland (Granted).


 


96/04/R05:  Renewal of Temporary Planning Permission for resiting of container for use as storage for use as storage for Falklands Fresh Limited at Gordon Lines, Stanley (Granted but will be asked to decorate the container).


 


100/04/R05:  Renewal of Temporary Planning Permission for siting of a porta-cabin for storage for Mr. P. McKay at 3 Brandon Road West, Stanley (Extended).


 


 


95/05/P:  Retrospective application for erection of 6 metre antenna and supporting ropes for Stevedore and Fishery Services at Admiralty Cottage at 2 John Biscoe Road (Deferred until the owner spoken to). 


 


92/05/P:  Outline Application for replacement of existing extension with 1 and ½ storey extension for Mr. J. Halliday at 2 Philomel Place (Granted).


 


101/05/PB:  Extension to Restaurant for Falklands Brasserie Limited at 3 Philomel Street (Granted).


 


106/05/PB:  Extension to Dwelling for Mrs. D. Hoy at 2 Dean Street (Approved).

108/05/PB:  Resiting of Porta-cabin for use of domestic garage and workshop for Mrs. D. Davis at 11 Callaghan Road (Granted provided it is 5 metres back from the road subject to agreement of the EPO).


 


109/05/R05:  Erection of a shed attached to an existing Porta-cabin for Mr. K. Heathman at Plot 18 Lookout Industrial Estate (Granted).


 


110/05/PB:  Erection of a dwelling for Mr. S. Floyd at 6 Hansen Hill (Granted).


 


111/05/PB:  Change of use of part of part of ground floor for offices for Kilmarton Marlor Legal Practitioners at 1 Barrack Street (Granted subject to satisfactory arrangements for parking).
