FALKLANDS LAUNCH TSUNAMI/EARTHQUAKE APPEAL

By J. Brock (FINN)

Heartfelt responses to the human loss and suffering in the nations around the Indian Ocean have been felt in the Falklands.  An account has been opened today at Standard Chartered Bank, Stanley, to receive donations towards the relief effort being undertaken by various UK charities in the aftermath of the Tsunami Earthquake disaster in Asia.

The funds will be sent to the Disasters Emergency Committee, a co-ordinating body covering the work of the British Red Cross; Oxfam; Save the Children Fund; World Vision; Action-aid; CAFOD; Christian Aid; and Tear Fund, amongst other relief agencies.

Donations may be made at the bank, or may be sent to:
Keith Biles, P.O. Box 166, Stanley, one of the sponsors of the appeal.

Further information about the Disaster Emergency Committee, or any activities relating to this appeal can be obtained from Keith Biles on Telephone 21897.
