Two children in fancy dress helped to create a festive atmosphere.

Thanks to some excellent weather on Sunday morning, Stanley’s toddlers and their parents and carers managed to amble around Stanley to raise money for the St. Mary’s Playground.  The venue started at the playground on St. Mary’s walk at 1030, when children, many in fancy dress, made their ways to the KEMH, and then on to the 1982 Monument, and continued East to the West Store.  By 11:30 everyone was safely back to St. Mary’s Walk Playground for refreshments.

There were prizes for the fancy dress effort with first prize going to Chloie Bonner, who was dressed as a fairy.  Christie Jo was dressed as a bumble bee.  Rebecca Harris and Carley East were awarded prizes for collecting the most money.  The children gathered £60.00 in total.

Leeann Harris, the organiser mentioned that the fund raising effort was gaining momentum.  All money raised will go towards the initial ground-works for the playground renovations.  Mrs. Harris thanked Standard Chartered Bank and Sodexho for their donations to the charity.

Enjoy the photos!
