H. E. the Governor congratulated all of the students that received Diplomas and Certificates.

“I would just like to say a very well done to everybody who received certificates this evening.  I know how much work goes into achieving these standards, especially when you – as all of you do – have full time employment as well.  I admire anybody who is able to do a full time job and also to study in their spare time.

It’s very good that we can bring you all together on an occasion like this and recognise your achievements formally before yourselves, your friends and your families and hopefully, a little bit of coverage in the media.

And, I would just like to say there is a very remarkable range of skills, in a whole range of activities, which have been recognised this evening.  And, it is a mark of the commitment of the people in the Falkland Islands to raising standards and to achieving standards in whatever they do.

I would like to congratulate all of you and commend your hard work.  And, I hope that this will just be a stage on your continued development and that you will all feel moved and encouraged to continue with your studies, with your training and with these qualifications, which really do mark a very high standard of achievement.  Well done to all of you.”
