NEW APPOINTMENT FOR FIDC

By J. Brock (FINN)

Executive Council yesterday approved the appointment of Martin Slater as the General Manager of the Falkland Islands Development Corporation (FIDC) and of Rob Granger as the Financial Controller for the Corporation.

Martin Slater has been serving as the Interim General Manager since the departure of Mark Boucher earlier this year. He commented “It is an honour and a privilege to continue working within the Development Corporation. I anticipate a fruitful year ahead and will enjoy working with a team of excellent colleagues.”

Rob added “I welcome this opportunity to help build a sustainable economic development future for the Falklands. We have some ambitious goals that we can achieve through our solid relationships and strong work ethics.”

MLA Jan Cheek, Portfolio-holder for FIDC, welcomed the appointments, ‘I am obviously delighted that Martin and Rob have been selected for their respective roles. They will bring a wealth of experience to the Corporation and I look forward to working with them as they help to drive FIDC forward.’
