RECORD NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS VISIT STANLEY LEISURE CENTRE

A record number of customers have used the facilities at Stanley Leisure Centre since the re-launch of the swimming pool on Monday 16th June. More than 170 customers used the facilities within the first 2 days of the re-launch and the Centre has seen more than 1800 unique visits during the 2 week re-launch period.

To celebrate the opening, Stanley Leisure Centre offered customers up to 5 free swims to be used during the launch period. Over 450 free swim passes were issued to customers and many took advantage of all 5 free swims.

MLA Ian Hansen, the portfolio holder for Central Services said, “'After being closed for so long it is very pleasing to see the leisure centre open again for public use. I have heard some very positive comments about the pool and the facilities now on offer. We welcome any feedback from the public on the new look leisure centre'”.

The Leisure Centre Manager, Miss Abbie Heathman, said “It is great to see so many members of the community, of all ages, enjoying the facilities and the new sessions we have to offer. The ‘crazy hour’ and first public aqua-run session reached full capacity of 60 customers, and the aqua-aerobics session has proved very popular with 47 attendees.”

Stanley Leisure Centre has introduced a ‘Mix it up’ promotional offer whereby customers can pay for 10 or 20 sessions in advance at a significantly reduced rate. The ‘Mix it up’ cards permit an adult swim, sauna and Jacuzzi session or an adult cardio session and the cards cost just £20 for 10 sessions and £34 for 20 sessions, saving ‘pay as you play’ customers up to £2.30 per activity.

Miss Heathman added, “We are continuing to invest in our leisure facilities and hope the improvements, new sessions and the promotional offers will encourage even more people back to the Centre”.
