COMMUNITY GRANT SCHEME
NEWS FLASH! DEADLINE NOW EXTENDED TO THURSDAY 28th FEBRUARY
St Helena Community Grant Scheme
The second round of grants have been awarded under the community grant scheme and nine organisations were successful. Community centres at Blue Hill and Harford, the Girl Guides, St Helena Cricket Association, SHNT, New Horizons, the Farmers Association, WISH and St Helena Community Development Organisation.
The projects will make a big difference to community life on the island and we want to take this opportunity to congratulate all the organisations who can look forward to receiving the funds very soon.
If you are thinking about making an application to the Community Grant Scheme you still have time before the next deadline of Thursday 28th February. This will be the last one in this financial year and we don’t want to hand money back!
Application forms and guidance notes are available by email from me or hard copies at the library, customer service centre or human rights office in Jamestown.
If you are not sure about what you can apply for or if your organisation is eligible please contact me at this email address, by phone on 2470 ext 246, arrange to meet me or stop me wherever you see me!
You can apply for up to £500 (or more if it is something exceptional) and it can be for running costs, maintenance or something new that you haven’t tried before! You will need a bank account (that needs more than one signature) so we can pay you the money, a constitution or set of rules (or are working towards one) and a charitable aim.
The money should be for activities that haven’t already happened, will take place on St Helena, will benefit the community (that is your members!). There are a few other rules but those are laid out in the guidance notes.
All applications must be returned to Liz at the Castle by Thursday 28th February so not too much time!
