Legislative Council will meet formally on Thursday, 13 September 2012 at 10am in the Court House for an expected one day session. The meeting will be broadcast live via Radio St Helena.
FORMAL MEETING OF LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
Legislative Council will meet formally on Thursday, 13 September 2012 at 10am in the Court House for an expected one day session. The meeting will be broadcast live via Radio St Helena.
All Honourable Members with the exception of Councillor Tony Green, who is on overseas business, will be in attendance. Acting Chief Secretary, Gillian Francis, Financial Secretary, Colin Owen and Attorney General, Ken Baddon will also attend the meeting.
Eleven questions will be asked at the session along with eight Motions, four of which are Bills for Ordinances - the Employment Rights (Amendment) Bill, 2012, the Revised Edition of Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2012, the Dogs and Cats (Amendment) Bill, 2012 and the Agriculture and Livestock Improvement (Amendment) Bill, 2012.
This session will also see the election of a new Member to sit on Executive Council and the election of a Member to chair the Economy and Finance Committee following the recent resignation of Tara Thomas.
The meeting will conclude with the customary Adjournment Debate allowing Councillors the opportunity to discuss various Island-related issues.
The last meeting of Legislative Council took place on 6 July 2012.
