St Helena : GARETH DRABBLE AND KIMBERLEY YON-ROBERTS BOTH AWARDED 1ST CLASS HONOURS DEGREES

Students, Gareth Drabble (of Levelwood) and Kimberley Yon-Roberts (of Cow Path) were both this week awarded 1st Class Honours Degrees in the UK. Both study at the University of Bedfordshire.

DOUBLE SUCCESS IN UK!


 


 


GARETH DRABBLE AND KIMBERLEY YON-ROBERTS BOTH AWARDED 1ST CLASS HONOURS DEGREES


 


 


Students, Gareth Drabble (of Levelwood) and Kimberley Yon-Roberts (of Cow Path) were both this week awarded 1st Class Honours Degrees in the UK. Both study at the University of Bedfordshire.


 


Gareth and Kimberley left the Island in 2009 under the Post-School Scholarship Programme to undergo their chosen courses of study.

During his Computer Networking course, Gareth studied Modules in Computer Systems Structure, Wireless Communications and Networking, Networking, Network Technologies, Computer Security and Counter -Measures, Social and Professional Project Management, Research Methodologies and Emerging Technologies and Advanced Networking.


 


Speaking with Gareth about his recent success he said:


“I am feeling very happy with the result I received. It felt good to work hard towards something and achieve a result, and knowing that your efforts resulted in the highest award available is an even better feeling!”


 


Kimberley Yon-Roberts


 


Kimberley’s area of study was Media Production where she studied modules in Radio Skills, Video Skills and Production, Media Theory and Research, Working in the Media, Documentary Practices, Developing Drama, Contemporary Practices and Debates, Cinematic Journeys and the Uses of Film Theory.


 


SHG UK Representative, Kedell Worboys remarked:


 


“Both Gareth and Kimberley have been model students and excellent ambassadors for St Helena. They fully deserve their First Class Honours Degrees and should be congratulated for their hard work throughout their three years of study.”


 


The Governor also offered warm congratulations to both.


 


Gareth and Kimberley will return to St Helena later this year.
