St Helena : St Helena GOVERNOR TO VISIT UK FOR LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

His Excellency, Governor Capes will depart the Island on Tuesday 24th April to attend the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s annual Leadership Conference in London. This will also include a meeting of all Governors from the Overseas Territories.

GOVERNOR TO VISIT UK FOR LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

 

His Excellency, Governor Capes will depart the Island on Tuesday 24th April to attend the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s annual Leadership Conference in London. This will also include a meeting of all Governors from the Overseas Territories.

 

While in the UK Governor Capes will also be making official calls to various Government Departments.

 

When His Excellency returns to Ascension on 14th May, there will be an official programme for his visit to mark Governor Capes’ first official visit to Ascension Island.

Governor Capes will return to St Helena on Saturday 19th May 2012.

 

From the day of the Governor’s departure, 24th April, up until the day he leaves Ascension on 27th April, the Chief Secretary, Owen O’Sullivan, will serve as Governor’s Deputy. While Governor Capes is in the UK the Chief Secretary will then become Acting Governor and the Deputy Chief Secretary, Gillian Francis, will become Acting Chief Secretary.

 

When His Excellency returns to Ascension on 14 May the Chief Secretary will revert back to Governor’s Deputy and Gillian Francis back to Deputy Chief Secretary.
