OUTPATIENT CLINIC CHANGES

With effect from 1 April this year, Head O’Wain and Sandy Bay clinics will no longer operate.

The decision to close the clinics has been made as a result of low attendance and consequent inefficient use of medical and nursing staff time at these locations.

With increasing pressure on financial resources, it is important that the Health and Social Welfare Directorate uses the resources it has in the most efficient and effective way possible. This message was reinforced during recent budget negotiations with DfID when additional resources were allocated for new initiatives, such as extra medical staff.

Patients who have previously attended these clinics will be able to make appointments at any other outpatient clinic, with additional consultations now being made available at the Half Tree Hollow and Levelwood Clinics.
