St Helena Tourism will again be welcoming to the island its Sales and Marketing Executive, Janet Shankland, when the RMS arrives this week. Janet is visiting the island to bring herself fully up to date with progress and developments, and to meet key stakeholders.
ST HELENA TOURISM AGAIN WELCOMES JANET SHANKLAND
St Helena Tourism will again be welcoming to the island its Sales and Marketing Executive, Janet Shankland, when the RMS arrives this week. Janet is visiting the island to bring herself fully up to date with progress and developments, and to meet key stakeholders. This will enable her to continue to develop opportunities with international tour operators and cruise ship operators.
Over the past year Janet has been busy promoting St Helena, and developing relationships with potential operators to the island. She has attended many travel trade events, including World Travel Market in London, Indaba in South Africa and the International Travel Fair in Germany. This has directly led to many new and developing contacts for St Helena.
In addition, Janet has co-ordinated a test advertising and promotional campaign in the press and in online media, which has proved most successful. She has also worked closely with our PR agency in the UK to ensure that St Helena is regularly featured in the media, especially specialist and travel trade publications.
Janet is looking forward to visiting the island again, and to meeting up with the many friends she made on her last visit. There is an opportunity for tour suppliers and others within the tourism sector to meet with Janet on a 1 to 1 basis on Saturday, 13 August, between 10.00am and 1.00pm at the Tourist Office. Janet will be on island from when the RMS arrives this week, and she departs on Friday 19 August.
