The Hon Mr Mike Summers has taken his oath of office at a reception in Government House on Monday, 11 July 2011.

MIKE SUMMERS MLA SWORN INTO OFFICE

The Hon Mr Mike Summers has taken his oath of office at a reception in Government House on Monday, 11 July 2011.


Present at the ceremony was the Acting Governor, Mr Rick Nye, the Attorney General, Mr Lewis, the Clerk of Council, Ms Claudette Anderson-Prior and her Assistant, Mrs Cherie Clifford, as well as the Financial Secretary, Mr Keith Padgett, the Speaker of the House, the Hon Mr Keith Biles and staff at Government House, as well as Honourable Members of Legislative Assembly.


 


Mr Summers has just returned from the Island Games where he was when elected to Assembly on 24 June.


 


During his remarks after the ceremony the Hon Mr Summers said he was pleased to be back on Assembly but he considered it to be a responsibility.  He mentioned having a lot of catch-up reading to do and focusing on his portfolios which may be Agriculture.  He will also concentrate on international affairs.
