Clinical Nurse Manager for Health and Social Welfare
A Clinical Nurse- Manager has recently been appointed to work to work within the Health and Social Welfare Directorate. Eileen O’Rourke has extensive experience working in the Northern Island Health Service and joins the Directorate on St Helena to review, develop, update and implement local protocols and procedures for the Hospital and community.
This comes as part of the Directorate’s aim to continuously improve on the services it provides.
The work Eileen does will cover all stages of hospitalisation, to ensure that high quality standards are maintained.
Eileen said:
“I have worked in the Health Service for 35 years of which 10 years was as Sister of the Intensive Care Unit in Craigavon Area Hospital during the times of great unrest in Northern Ireland. The remaining 25 years I worked in management at various levels within the Health Service. My final five years was as General Manager for Acute Services, across two hospital sites. I retired from this post in November 2010 but remained on the hospital as and when required rota as co-ordinator for Acute Services.”
