The owners of the Malvina House Hotel, Stanley Serviced limited (SSL), have announced on Monday that there will be no change for the foreseeable future to the name of the hotel.

"The overwhelming view of those people who expressed their views both verbally and in writing (about 70:30) wished for the Company to maintain the existing name, said Tom Swales, Managing Director of SSL

Mr Swales said that he was very pleased with the feedback from all its customers which showed how highly the hotel is viewed. He added that it was certainly a very lively debate with some very good suggestions being received.

One of the recurring proposals made by a number of people said Mr Swales was to incorporate the Falkland Islands Flag within the Signage/Logo of the Hotel and this was being looked at by the Company. He added that the Restaurant and the Bar would have their own names and these will be announced in due course.

In conclusion Mr Swales said that by thanking all those people who expressed their views both for maintaining the name and those who wished for a new name.
