ALL WELCOME TO THE NEW WEST STORE

The long awaited opening of FIC’s new extension of the West Store happened at 0900hrs on Wednesday, 18 November 2009.   FIC Directors, Paul Lewis and Roger Spink were on hand to see that things ran smoothly and to answer questions.

The Team effort is paying off in that more shopping can be done under one roof and there is one check-out instead of one per section.  Both the electrical store and the extension can be entered from the parking lot and the doors are automatic, not blowing open and keeping the heat in on cold days.

According to Paul Lewis the products should remain in their assigned places – a time saver for people who were patient enough to live through the move when items were being shifted into the new section.

Furniture and fittings have been put in the new café, located in the old Entertainment Centre.  It opened on Friday morning.

The changes took a considerable amount of time to facilitate.  Staff worked tirelessly to ensure the new look West Store opened on time.  Builders, electricians, plumbers, brick layers and pavers from the Public Services Department also had a hand in making the new extension a success.

Wide isles help to make navigation with prams and push chairs easier.  The car-park is convenient and one no longer has to cross a busy road with groceries.
