Fish Landings on the increase

Fish landing weights appear to be on the increase. For the period 3rd to 10th June Argos received 13.2 tonnes of fish in total. The weight was made u of 6.7 tonnes of Tuna, 3.5 tonnes of Skipjack, just over 2 tonnes of Wahoo; about a half tonne of Marlin and the remainder of the weight were smaller amounts of Ground fish species.

For the same period last year 9.3 tonnes of fish were received amounting to 5.5 tonnes of Tuna, 2 tonnes of Skipjack, 1 tonne of Wahoo and smaller amounts of Ground Fish species.

The increased weights are currently welcomed by the fishing industry.

Argos hopes to be able to send a consignment of fish to the UK via Cape Town.
