Falklands : X-Ray Machine works says Director of Health and Medical Services
Submitted by Falkland Islands News Network (Nathan Prince) 27.09.2002 (Article Archived on 25.10.2002)

The Director of Health has denied that the new x-ray system is broken.

Norman McGregor-Edwards said that the machine was being used to x-ray people yesterday afternoon and is in perfect working order. This was also confirmed by a hospital engineer. The DHSS explained that a non-essential add-on to the system had arrived in a non-serviceable condition. However, this is not a problem as the component, part of an image intensifier, is not needed for the main system to run at its full capacity. He added that someone would be coming over from the USA, bringing a replacement part.
