Sergeant Dave Roberts of the Royal Falkland Islands Police updates us on the latest police activity.


 


At 1117hrs on Monday, 15 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of criminal damage to the Falklands Brasserie Sign with letters removed.  This incident is under investigation.  If anyone has information about this incident, please give Sergeant Roberts a call on 27222.


 


At 2342hrs on Monday, 15 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a loose dog wandering around Stanley.  The owner was located and the dog returned home safely.  The Royal Falkland Islands Police would like to remind dog owners to keep their animals under control and secure at all times.   The Dogs Ordinance states that a dog does not have to be on a lead at all times but if it is left in the garden overnight it must be secure there.  It is safer for all concerns for dogs to be on leads when in public places. A £100.00 fine will be applied if dog owners are negligent in picking up their animal’s faeces.


 


At 0134hrs on Wednesday, 17 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a missing person.  Officers were tasked and the person was found safe and well and has returned home.


 


At 1711hrs on Thursday, 18 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a single vehicle road traffic accident on the Stanley to Darwin Road in the vicinity of Elephant Canyon.


 


At 1841hrs on Thursday, 18 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a two-vehicle Road Traffic Accident at the junction of Ross Road and Dean Street.  Both parties are dealing with the incident through insurance.


 


At 1045hrs on Friday, 19 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of damage to property at the Parish Hall.  The incident is under investigation and anyone with information can call Sergeant Roberts on 27222.


 


At 1126 hrs on Friday, 19 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of branches down on Philomel Hill.  Officers attended and removed the branches.


 


At 1550hrs on Friday, 19 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of fuel leaking from a vehicle.  The Fire and Rescue Service as well as the Public Works Department dealt with the incident.


 


At 2002hrs on Friday, 19 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a vehicle fire in the vicinity of the Victory Bar.  The Fire and Rescue Service were tasked to deal with the incident.


 


At 1210hrs on Saturday, 20 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of the theft of bicycles on Shackleton Drive.  The bikes were later recovered on H. Jones Road.


 


At 1325hrs on Saturday, 20 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of live rounds discovered on the beach in the vicinity of “The Shack.”  EOD were tasked to deal with the incident.


 


At 2228hrs on Saturday, 20 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of concern about a bright light in the SSW sky.  It turned out to be the McNaught Commit that should be visible – clouds permitting – for the next week.


 


At 0945hrs on Sunday, 21 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a request for an ambulance on Ross Road.  A person had fallen over.  KEMH staff dealt with the incident.


 


At 1548hrs on Sunday, 21 January 2007 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a live ammunition find at Sappers Hill.  EOD dealt with the incident.
