Falklands Now Have GPRS EDGE Mobile Data Services

By J. Brock (FINN)

Cable & Wireless South Atlantic Limited have announced the launch of our GPRS EDGE mobile data services from 8am on Wednesday 1st August 2012. This means in addition to calling or texting you will be able to access the internet, send and receive e-mails and MMS messages (picture, audio or video clips), providing your mobile phone is data capable and you have a local SIM card.

As well as data services being available to pay as you go mobile customers we have put together some new packages for Premium pay monthly customers. Existing Premium customers will automatically receive additional data features at no extra cost. All call and text rates remain unchanged.

Mobile data offers on the go access to the internet and your emails. It is not designed to replace your home broadband package. Although large and complex sites may take a while to load, the service is handy for internet browsing, e-mail and social networking. It also allows customers without a broadband package the option to use the internet.

To activate data services you will need to configure both the data and MMS settings on your handset. We have posted a leaflet to all customers today and full details can be found on our website www.cwfi.co.fk
